A cycling tour for the environment, the protection of nature and the abolition of the anti-environmental law, will be organized on Thursday in Heraklion.

The action is organized by the “Citizens’ Movement of Crete for the abolition of the anti-environmental law and the protection of nature: ‘FYSITIRES’, and will take place in Eleftherias Square, at 6 pm on Thursday.

Participation will be possible with bicycles, skates, scooters, roller skates and all kinds of wheels and wheels. Note that May 21 is the European NATURA 2000 Network Day.

In the announcement-call of the organizers mentioned the following:

“This Thursday, 21 May, European Network Day “NATURA 2000″, we invite you, your friends and your children to a bike ride for the environment, human rights and nature protection.

The new (Anti-) Environmental Law, which was passed unexpectedly on 6 May through constitutionally dubious procedures, leaves nature completely unprotected and provides enormous facilities for would-be investors and speculators to exploit it.

We are called upon to honour the Pan-European Network of Protected Areas ‘NATURA 2000’, whose protection is to be abolished by the implementation of the law.

We take our bicycles, skates, skateboards, scooters and all kinds of wheels and wheels!

The most important thing is that we are all there. If you want, you can decorate your bikes with a slogan for the environment. Let your imagination run wild!
