For the fifth year, the volunteer group Heraklion Eco Voice, which is active in Heraklion Crete, held the 5th Heraklion Urban Ecology Festival with the support of the Region of Crete and the public benefit enterprise of the Municipality of Heraklion, DIKEI, in the park of the Heraklion coastal road, at the theatre towards the Pancretio Stadium. The festival took place from Friday 3 June to Sunday 5 June 2022, World Environment Day.

According to the volunteer group, “in a festive atmosphere, honouring traditions and culture, the Heraklion Eco Voice volunteer group has, for another year, organised a rich programme of activities and events. Some of these include open physical fitness classes, bicycle use, environmentally inspired art exhibitions, visual arts workshops, exhibitions of ecological products and services, eco-workshops, concerts, book presentations and inspirational informative talks.

GreenTeam had its own booth with various activities as well as topics for discussion! We showed people the decomposition time of specific packaging, discussed common environmental issues, played hangman and tested the knowledge of young and old with quizzes. Many thanks to everyone who joined us during these two days and to Heraklion Eco Voice for organizing the event.
